Lyrics

As all of you know, I'm obsessed with music. There are many songs and lyrics to them that inspire & move me. I see music as a better form of poetry. And like all art, most people can walk away from the same painting with a completely different experience and view of it. That's just like music. Below are some of my favorites. Tell me what you think! What are some of your favorite poems, artists, singers/songwriters, lyrics, etc?

Postcards From ItalyBEIRUT.
The times we had
Oh, when the wind would blow with rain and snow
Were not all bad
We put our feet just where they had
Had to go
Never to go

The shattered soul
Following close but nearly twice as slow
Were my good times
There were always golden rocks to throw
At those who
Those who admit defeat too late
Those were our times
Those were our times

And I will love to see that day
That day is mine
When she will marry me
Outside with the willow trees
And playing songs in May
What made me so
And I would love to see that day
The day was mine

WarningINCUBUS
Bat your eyes girl.
Be otherworldly.
Count your blessings.
Seduce a stranger.
What's so wrong with being happy?
Kudos to those who see through sickness...yeah

Over and over and over and over...........

She woke in the morning.
She knew that her life had passed her by
She called out a warning.
Don't ever let life pass you by.

I suggest we
Learn to love ourselves,
Before its made illegal
When will we learn, When will we change
Just in time to see it all come down

Those left standing will make millions
Writing books on ways it should have been

She woke in the morning.
She knew that her life had passed her by
She called out a warning.
Don't ever let life pass you by.

Floating in this cosmic Jacuzzi
We are like frogs oblivious
Soon the water starting to boil,
Now I flinched and we all float face down

She woke in the morning.
She knew that her life had passed her by
She called out a warning.
Don't ever let life pass you by.
Pass you by.

I love that you have your own unique style, tastes and interests. You are a well-rounded person!

You asked before who my favorite artists are...I would have to say that da Vinci and Manet are right up there. I love that da Vinci not only painted, he sculpted, invented and experimented with many different elements. My favorite contemporary artist is John Waterhouse. He has an appreciation for the female body, and in my opinion paints the most beautiful women.

As for music I like all kinds. Alternative, Pop, Classics, Opera, Musicals, and Rock. I must say though that I don't care for Country, Jazz, Rap or hard Rock.

Poets and authors: Obviously William Blake is my all-time favorite, but I do like Pablo Neruda. As for authors, right now I'm loving J.K. Rowling. I know, how mainstream of me, right? Harry Potter is just such a treat, I can't help myself! Austen, Finch, and Arthur Golden are up there too.

I have been so confused! I have been checking your other blog. And I was pissed that you never wrote anything new! But now I get it!
Anyway I love this blog. I totally agree with you and that everyone can take their own interpretation from music and art. Its funny too, because even I will feel a certain way about a song. And years later you hear the lyrics again and it can mean something totally different to you. You know a lot of the music I listen to. Some of the Artists that I love... Claude Monet, Wislow Homer, Maxfield Parrish, Henri de Telous-Letrac, Norman Rockwell and Ansel Adams.
