So some of the current hardships in my life center around the fact that John is leaving, for two years, at the end of this year. I'm very proud of him but I can't help but feel sad at the strain it's caused on our relationship (although I'm not allowed to call it that...) So reading Emerson, I stumbled upon this quote and I thought it was perfect for John's situation.
That is, until I applied it to myself. And now I feel pretty motivated.
"Be not the slave of your own past. Plunge into the sublime seas, dive deep and swim far, so you shall come back with self-respect, with new power, with an advanced experience that shall explain and overlook the old."
-Ralph Waldo Emerson

I want to steal it for meself!
You write WAY better than your old man young lady! Keep it up...
You have such an old soul. I am constantly amazed at the inspiring words I get from you and your sisters.
Hang in There. I have been in your shoes, and I would never want to re-live that hard time of my life. Find things to stay busy, and be open to new adventures, and people!
